Propeller shaft seal
The propeller shaft connects the engine (inside of the boat) and the propeller (outside) and since it rotates, the seal is kind of tricky. Commonly used way to have a -theoretically- waterproof sail is to use something called a 'stuffing tube', which is usually a tube with a sealed bearing on each side, filled with oil or fat.
